“Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”—Statement from Lea Michele’s Rep
I have somewhat abandoned this blog… because, admittedly, life has gotten busy and I’ve stopped watching Glee. But hearing the news of Cory Monteith’s death has still shaken me to the core. My heart is breaking for this fandom, for the tight-knit cast and crew, and most of all for Lea Michele. I’ve heard a rumor that they were planning on getting married in two weeks time. Part of me hopes it isn’t true because that would mean her wedding dress is hanging in her closet— a menacing reminder of what ‘could have been’. I hope she is surrounding herself with loved ones. Let’s all please respect her, and remember that even out-pourings of love can be overwhelming at a time like this. If you have any respect for her, for Monteith, and for the love they had together, you will give her the space she undoubtedly needs.
“I still get to see everybody, and now it’s like, ‘I’m so excited to see you!’ Instead of like, ‘I’ve been looking at your face for 17 hours and I love you but I want to go home.’ Now it’s like, every time I see Kevin McHale I want to punch him in the face and like molest him. I just get so excited.”—
